Managing your Home File

Upload, organize, search, and export the documents and belongings that make up your home.

Your Home File is everything Argo knows about your property, your belongings, and the documents that tie them together. Here's how to work with it day-to-day.

What belongs in your Home File

  • Property documents: deed, title insurance, mortgage, HOA docs, surveys.
  • Home systems: HVAC service records, roof warranties, appliance manuals, serial numbers.
  • Insurance: homeowners, umbrella, flood, contents inventories.
  • Inspections & repairs: home inspection reports, estimates, invoices.
  • Personal property: receipts, warranties, and photos of anything worth tracking for insurance or resale.

Uploading documents

  • Drag-and-drop on web, or use the Upload button on mobile.
  • Argo reads each file, suggests a category and title, and extracts key dates (warranty expiration, renewal dates, etc.).
  • Large files process in the background, so feel free to keep working.

Organizing your data

  • Documents are filed by property and by category (Insurance, Maintenance, Receipts, etc.).
  • Collections let you group related items. For example, a “Kitchen remodel 2024” collection can bundle the receipts, permits, and photos together.
  • You can rename, re-tag, or re-file anything at any time.

Asking Argo about your stuff

  • Use the chat to ask questions grounded in your own documents: “what's covered under my roof warranty?”, “show me everything we paid for the kitchen remodel.”
  • Argo cites the source document whenever it pulls a fact.

Searching

The search bar finds documents by name, tag, extracted content, or the items inside them.

Exporting

Settings → Export my data produces a zip with all your files plus a structured JSON index. Your data is yours; you can leave at any time.
